一本道app member Cummins is partnering with DuPont to address the nation鈥檚 shortage of N95 respirator masks.
Cummins, an engine manufacturer, uses DuPont鈥檚 Hybrid Membrane Technology in its filtration products, like those in heavy-duty diesel engines. The HMT can also be used in N95 respirator masks, the kind recommended for use in hospitals because they filter 95% of airborne particles that can spread COVID-19.
鈥淐ummins聽is re-evaluating our supply base and manufacturing capabilities to identify how聽we can support聽our healthcare聽professionals who rely on critical personal聽protective equipment to do their jobs,鈥� said Amy聽Davis, Vice President of聽Cummins Filtration.
Cummins has donated the filter technology for the masks, and they were assembled by the University of Minnesota teams in March.
